Clash The Arinthian Line Volume 4 Sever Bronny 9780993767661 Books
Another brilliant book from Sever Bronny. Man, am I glad he's so prolific!!First, the negatives:
1. This book was more "Harry Pottery" than the previous books, and for that reason it felt a little rehearsed.
2. The drama between two of the characters was incredibly irritating--I actually just don't need teenage romance or teenage drama in my life.
3. The pacing of this book was a bit more uneven than that of the others--the structure was less of an arc and more of a meander through a series of events.
4. A little less attention seems to have been given to editing this novel than the previous ones. There aren't any typos (!!!), but there are a few mis-used words and the odd bit of unusual grammar.
The positives:
Everything else. Seriously. I've been recommending this series to every person I can. It's an excellent example of a great indie series--and as anyone who follows my reviews knows, I certainly don't give 4 or 5 star ratings lightly. Get amongst it now!!!

Clash The Arinthian Line Volume 4 Sever Bronny 9780993767661 Books Reviews
(No spoilers in this review)
Wow, I thought that Sever grew as a write in the third book, but this one is now my favorite in the series. His pacing just keeps getting better, and I like how the characters grow in their abilities naturally through experience and helping each other. No unexplained jumps in ability or secret spells that save them, all is done in a logical progression. Even one item near then end of the book was built upon something that happened to Augum in the first book. The relationship between the three main characters is so fun, but not just fun and games and the mounting pressures can take their toll in a realistic manner.
In many Fantasy series, there's some way, manner, object, etc. that allows the heroes to defeat the evil. In this series, it's no one thing (i.e find the sword, find one spell, etc.). There are hints on what it might be, but it's building to be combination of things put together, some of which may take a terrible toll to succeed. I enjoy seeing the struggle to fight on when you don't know what that end of the tunnel may be, or even if there is one. I can't wait to see how it plays out and if some of my guesses are right on how victory may be achieved (if it is). I'm so glad I found this series and gave it try. You can bet that I'll be recommending it to others.
After chatting a bit with Sever on email, I have to say, it's something to see that someone so nice can create such nasty and psychotic villains. I probably shouldn't take such pleasure when some of these characters get what's coming to them. )
Probably my favorite book in the series so far.
I read a bunch of reviews where others disliked this book a lot. I don't understand. This one was GREAT.
We get more arcanery (magic), we get new friends, magic TOURNAMENTS, an old magic school with history and lore, understanding of the past, hope for the future. We get more action, more excitement, and more AWESOMENESS.
People mention things like "pacing" or "teenage angst" or "there were some grammatical errors". COME ON PPL Get over yourselves, I don't see you writing incredible stories in awesome worlds with legit magic-systems, etc! I'll take your reviews seriously when you write something this good. Really, I didn't even notice ANY of that junk because of how good the book was.
Really I was able to read all of the books in a series in a row, didn't have to wait for book 5 to come out. But if I had finished this and had to wait for book 5, I don't know what would have happened...
My Son MORE THAN LOVE'S this series! He just finished 6th grade and he read the first one in April. He's now on the 4th. I JUST bought him the 5th. HE WANT ME TO READ THEM BECAUSE HE SAYS IT'S THE BEST BOOKS HE'S EVER READ (which is saying A LOT because he's at a 12th grade reading level and has been reading novels since he was 7) AND HE KNOWS I'D LIKE THEM TOO!
He has a FULL scorecard at school ALL Pre-AP courses with Homework 3 extracurricular activities and he STILL BLEW THROUGH THESE BOOKS LIKE WATER. His backpack weighs about 40 pounds and these books aren't light, on top of that he carries his lunch by hand. He has his backpack on his back, his lunch in one hand and one of the 5 books in the other since April. They JUST FINISHED last week and he's finished 600 pages in a week! Tell Mr. Bronny to WRITE FASTER!
Well, well, Another can't put down page turning adventure in this 4th Book of the Arinthian Line! I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I have to say Sever's books just keep getting better and better. Sever has done a superb job with this whole series including the newest, Clash. The scenes pop off the pages they are so well described it just makes you feel you are right there with the characters as the action takes place. The characters are so well developed I feel I know them personally and the emotions I felt while reading were incredible! I just want to leap in the book and join Augum, Bridget and Leera... Hmm, I believe I have said this in a previous review of an earlier book which means this is another epic read by Sever! This book is intense, and you get to stay and enjoy it for a long time because there are so many pages! I think anyone who picks up this latest installment will be highly pleased, this story reels you in and is very hard to put down. This whole series is amazing so make sure you read them all. I can't wait for the next one Sever! Bring it on!
